Flight 51G: 0.7S, 23.4W, 19 June 1985

Several seconds after viewing the suloy north of the equator in the Atlantic Oceans the astronauts aboard the Discovery observed another such feature with an arcuate shape extending through a sea covered with wind slicks and a few whitecaps. This convergent shear line lay in waters in the midst of the Atlantic North Equatorial Current, which flows from east to west.
