Eastern Mediterranean

61A-200-040 (Linhof 250 mm)
Flight 61A; 33.5N, 23E, 1 Nov 1985

The crew of the Challenger had excellent observing conditions over the eastern Mediterranean Sea and along the coast of Libya during the shuttle's flight in October-November 1985. Eddies, ships and their wakes, a remnant of a stern-wake discharge conforming to eddy boundaries, and a well developed suloy came into their view as they orbited on an ascending pass that would carry them over the Aegean Sea and Turkey.
